Sipitang and Sindumin are two border towns in the southwestern part of Sabah and the journey by road takes about 3 hours to Sipitang from the Capital City of Kota Kinabalu in the north and another half hour to Sindumin from Sipitang. You can stopped by many small towns along the journey like Papar, Membakut, Kimanis, Beaufort and Kota Klias.
The newly upgraded railway line from Tg Aru to Beaufort will soon be opened to the public and you can take this alternative journey to Beaufort before you take a car to Sipitang from Beaufort and the journey takes about 45 minutes. From Beufort you can continue your journey to Tenom by train and as the train rolls you get to see the Padas Gorge of the Padas River and the popular white water rafting at Tenom Panggi.
